Musician Ronald Mayinja was prohibited from performing at the Enkuuka, which took place on December 31, 2023.
The singer now says he chose not to perform at the Enkuuka out of goodwill. He didn't want to cause ruckus in Kabaka's palace.
He says Abitex is a non-Muganda and cannot stop him from performing in Buganda. He emphasized that Abitex is just in Buganda for monetary gains, which is not the case with him.
"Abitex is in Buganda to make money, and he has no right to stop me from performing at Enkuuka. He is a non-Muganda, and I accepted not to perform out of goodwill, but not because Abitex stopped me," he partly said in an interview with a local television.
It should be noted that Mayinja performed at the Nkwacho festival, which was an alternative to Enkuuka.
