Handover of offices ministers to new bearers is slated to end today.

The new cabinet was sworn in on Tuesday at State House Entebbe, while handover ceremonies commenced on Wednesday.

Mary Karoro Okurut handed over the security docket to Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde on Wednesday, Fred Ruhindi handed over the Attorney General’s office on Thursday, and today, Frank Tumwebaze is handing over two offices of KCCA and Presidency to Betty Kamya and Esther Mbayo respectively.

Government spokesperson, Ofwono Opondo announced on Monday that handing over of offices would go throughout the week until today Friday June 24th.

In her inaugural speech, the new KCCA minister Betty Kamya asked for unity at city hall asking that all people should work together to create the political environment that will help them work best.

“Each of us should work together to create the political environment that will help us work best. I hope and believe we shall not let down the president on achieving the position of a middle income country” Kamya said.

On the other hand, the minister for presidency Esther Mbayo said she was looking forward to working with all stakeholders towards the development of Uganda.
