The Democratic Party has kick started a campaign to raise money for one of its members Ms. Agnes Nayiga who has breast cancer to go to India for surgery.

The campaign is spearheaded by the party’s president General, Nobert Mao, who told reporters this afternoon that Nayiga needs 120 million for the surgery.

She was diagnosed in 2013, and her oncologist has since cut off one of her breasts, but this did not help. Nayiga also did undergo Chemotherapy, a very difficult treat and she went through it successfully.

“She now has to start Radiotherapy, a process which is very expensive for her. She needs to raise 120 million shillings which is the cost of having the required operation and treatment in India as it has been recommended. Her second breast has to be cut off during that operation in order to save her life” Mao said.

According to Mao, the save Agnes campaign team has printed T-shirts which go for a price of 30,000shs as one of the primary ways to raise some funds.

“Any other form of contribution is welcome. We also call upon the democrats, institutions, individuals, all well wishers to open-handedly support Agnes before mid-August so that she travels for treatment” Mao added.

Well wishers can reach Agnes on her mobile number 0701066275 and Mrs. Annet Nakyanja Mawejje 0772629121/0701629121.
