The once and famous comedy group, the Ebonies is on the verge of collapsing as we talk. Exclusive information coming in is that sex and money has split the once most watched Ugandan comedy group.
Sources inside Labonita have revealed that the owners and shareholder lawyer, Katende is soon pulling away from the group. We have further come to learn that the group no longer brings in money as most of its crucial members retired without nurturing their the young talent.
The group is indebted
As we speak now, Ebonies is indebted. The company has been borrowing money without paying back. The bosses have been fighting for money and accusing each other for mismanagement of the groups’ funds. There is no accountability and transparency in the group.
The group no longer make enough money. The abroad trips reduced as they no longer get international gigs and in the process, the theatre is crumbling. Way back, Ebonies used to sponsor the actors to go abroad but today, they can’t manage to foot their bills. Actors who can manage to pay air tickets using their own money normally fly out.
Sex among the group
For a matter of fact, most members of the group have been accused of sleeping with each other. Some allegations have been true. The lead actor, Sam Bbosa has been accused several times of getting involved in more sex scandals and it has affected the group.
There have been also accusations of favouritism in the group during recruitment. Bosses tend to favour some girls when joining the group. It is alleged that they are given bedroom interviews.
However, Bosses have denied allegations several times. This is slowly eating up the group.
