Sudhir Ruparelia is the founder of Ruparelia Group, one of Uganda's largest conglomerates. The company owns a string of hotels, country clubs and owns more than 200 commercial properties. The loaded tycoon has been in the news recently after Bank of Uganda took over ownership of his Crane Bank, saying its lack of capital posed a systemic risk to the country’s financial system.
To a lay man, that would have been the end of a Forbes once ranked the richest man in Uganda. However, on Wednesday night, he held a flashy birthday party at his 6B Kololo ranch. It was a party for elites, loaded colleagues, and family business associates.
He turned 62 years of age and he was surrounded by his lovely wife Josystna Ruparelia and son, Rajiv.
Sudhir also took time off to showcase his cooking skills to the guests.
