Uganda Stop TB Partnership (USTP) in collaboration with their Geneva Partners United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) have nominated Ugandan ansd African Award winning musician Bebe Cool as a Tuberculosis (TB) ambassador for Uganda.
Howwe has learnt that Bebe Cool will be tasked with raising awareness about Tuberculosis and drawing the public attention towards its plight in Uganda.
Bebe Cool is currently in the USA attending the United Nations High Level Meeting on Tuberculosis (UNHLM) to be held at United Nations headquarters in New York that runs from 23rd to 27th september 2018.
During the meeting, Bebe Cool is expected to interface with international high level health funders from across the globe in a bid to lobby funds to eradicate this kiler disease. This meeting is also expected to provide a platform for TB champions, celebrities and journalists to share their crucial work on TB, Ensure elevation of TB visibility and awareness post UNHLM on every country, discuss post UNHLM activities for advocacy and awareness raising.
Tuberculosis is an infectious airborne disease transmitted through air from a known or unknown TB patient mainly through coughing, sneeezing and talking.
This has come a month after Bebe Cool used part of the proceeds from the much successful Golden Heart Concert to send 6 children with heart complicated problems to India for surgery.
