Musician Jose Chameleone was part of the team led by fellow NRM supporter and musician Bebe Cool that moved across the country to garner support for President Museveni in 2016 general elections. And he was paid handsomely for entertaining NRM supporters.

Two years down the road,  Chameleone has continuously changed colours to please both parties that are in a scramble for his affiliation.

Unlike Bobi Wine and Bebe Cool, who have a side where they belong, Jose Chameleone is tied up in the middle.

A perfect example is when Bobi Wine, the leader of People Power was arrested and tortured by the state authorities in August, all mainstream musicians except Bebe Cool stood with Bobi Wine by using their social media platforms to advocate for his release.

Ofcourse, Chameleone also advocated for the release of Bobi Wine but it was believed that his decision was driven by pressure from fans who demanded for his say on the issue that had taken every Ugandan by storm.

That long gone, Jose Chameleone  is still playing dirty to please both parties.

At his recently concluded concert, Jose Chameleone embarrassed NRM's Ruth Nankabirwa by grabbing a microphone from her on stage to please the People Power section whose president was in attendance.

Upon his selfish act, the self proclaimed music doctor received cheers from revellers.

His mission had been accomplished to satisfy  the People Power diehards and his next move would be to please the NRM.

'The Chameleone' did exactly as expected. A few days after the concert, he called a press conference and told journalists that what had happened at his concert was not meant to embarrass Ruth Nankabirwa but instead he was running out of time.

It should be recalled that his concert ended about 30 minutes before the midnight deadline so there was plenty of time for Ruth Nankabirwa to put her message across.

At that moment, Chameleone had sided with people's favourite, Bobi Wine, who was also in attendance.

Also, at his concert, Jose  Chameleone used Bobi Wine's presence to buy the love of the People Power section by calling him onto the stage to shower him with all kinds of praises, something that was well digested by revellers who applauded the "Champion" hit maker for being different from the NRM diehard Bebe Cool.

But it was a shock to many that  Chameleone  had to betray NRM in front of the press and the fans.

It is alleged that Jose Chameleone paid a number of media houses to run stories that Bobi Wine attended his concert without his invitation. He had to keep both sides happy.

In conclusion, Jose Chameleone's political affiliation is not clear. He feeds from both sides but his time seems to be up because both parties are slowly but surely learning his intentions.
