Musician Jackie Chandiru spent years in rehabilitation centers battling drug-related addiction.
The singer has now opened up on the challenges she faced during her rehabilitation. Chandiru explained she was almost raped by one of the occupants in the facility.
They used to share the same rooms with the male patients, and it took an intervention of the caretaker to restore calm in the room.
"I was sexually assaulted during my rehab times. This man attempted to rape me because we used to live together, and I was the only female among a good number of male patients. However, I made a loud alarm, and the caretakers came and eventually restored calm in the room," she partly said in an interview with a local YouTuber.
Chandiru overcame addiction, and she is currently releasing fresh music.
