A case in which Pine car bond proprietor Muhammad Sebuufu is charged with murder of business woman Donnah Katusabe has taken a new twist after the main suspect denied any involvement.

Last month, members of Katusabe’s family and the public at large were angered when the DPP decided to drop murder charges against ASP Aaron Baguma, a police officer who was implicated in the same case. Baguma has since started a process to re-apply for his police job.

But while they were still reeling from the DPP’s decision, Sebuufu who is alleged to have tortured the late business woman to death at his bond in Nakasero denied murder charges.

Prosecution alleges that Sebuufu along with his co-accused, Tasingika Paul, Damaseni Sentongo, Kayinza Godfrey, Mirambe Philip, Shaban Oduttu and Yoweri Kitayimbwa, in 2015, while at Pine car bond in Nakasero Kampala tortured Katusabe to death. She allegedly owed Sebuufu’s company some few millions of Shillings from a car she purchased from him.

However, appearing before High Court judge Anglin Senoga, Sebuufu and his co-accused denied the charges. The main suspect told court that he was actually appearing before court in mengo, on the fateful day.

Hearing of the case did not start as earlier anticipated after defence lawyers told court they were not ready. The judge adjourned the matter to Thursday 8th February before instructing everybody to come ready for the hearing.

Sebuufu is out on Bail.
