The country has been safe from Iron Bar hit men for some good months, thanks to the neighborhood police system introduced by former Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura. But these thugs seem to be picking up from where they left.

As we report, two people in Kabwoya Sub county Hoima district are nursing injuries following an attack by suspected iron bar hit men. The victims have been identifiedas; Joab Bright and a one George, both residents of Mundama LC1 in Kimbugu parish in Kabwoya Sub-county.

According to Stephen Buryahika, the Kabwoya Sub-county LC3 chairperson, the duo was injured on Friday night when suspected iron bar hit men raided the area. According to Buryahika, the hit men raided three homes in Mundama village where they robbed residents’ unspecified amount of money.

The chairman explains that these hit men first attacked George who operates a mobile money service in the trading center and robbed him of Shillings 6million before they hit him on the head living him with serious injuries. The hit men later moved to the home of Joab bright where they robbed Shillings 900,000 before hitting on the head leaving him in critical condition.

Victims were rushed to Kagadi hospital where they are nursing severe wounds. Now, Buryahika says that following the attack, residents ganged up and started pursuing the suspected iron bar hit men and managed to recover a Bajaj motorcycle Registration Number UEK 671Y.

Security authorities in the district have since been to establish more police posts in the Sub County to beef up security in the area. This attack comes barely three weeks after the Hoima District Security Committee chaired by the Resident District Commissioner, John Stephen Ekoom held a security meeting in the area following a spate of attacks on residents by suspected iron bar hit men.

Last month three people were attacked and injured severely by suspected iron bar hit men who invaded the area. Hoima Resident District Commander, Bernard Akankwasa, says they have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
