An unidentified driver of a Double Cabin pick-up registration number UAT 118H is on the run after knocking two people dead in Apac district.
The incident happened last evening at Arac-Cell, Awila parish, Akokoro Sub county when a speeding Double Cabin pick-up heading towards Masindi-Port along Apac-Masindi Port road, knocked Anna Akello and Rose Akao, all residents of Awiri cell, Aroca Division in Apac town.
According to eye witness accounts, the vehicle lost control and knocked the two women who were riding bicycles from Kayei landing site, where they had gone to purchase fish.
The Apac district Police Traffic officer Michael Omee, attributed the cause of the accident to over speeding and said they are hunting for the driver.
