Residents of Kitwigo Village in Kicheche Sub County Kamwenge district are in panic after on of their own, 70-year- Bonefansi Bwiiso who went missing, has been found dead.
It is believed that Bwiiso was murdered and his body dumped in a stream, before it was recovered by residents on Wednesday.
The deceased went missing on Sunday night, as he was returning to his home.
One resident, Scovia Nuwagira tells us that the deceased, who was a prominent maize farmer in the area, was waylaid by thugs, who could have wanted his money from his sold maize harvest.
Bwiiso’s relative says they got suspicious when the deceased who usually returns home at 8:00 pm, did not return on Sunday night.
According to Didas Byaruhanga, the Kamwenge District Police Commander, police is still carrying out investigations into the murder.
