Two Police officers in attached to Railways Police post in Railways Division, Lira district are in trouble after they were arrested for allegedly receiving a bribe of Uganda shillings 500,000 to mishandle a case.
 
The duo has been identified as Nelson Obia and a one Aria whose other name could not be established. They are accused of receiving the bribe to mismanage a case in which a casual worker at Tip-Top bakery in Lira town had accused his employer of torture and putting pepper in his anus.

The duo fell into hot soup after the victim filed a complaint at the Police Standard Unit - North Kyoga regional headquarters and the Police headquarters challenging the manner in which the case was managed by the Police in Lira district.
  
The duo’s arrest was ordered by the Police headquarters, and John Peter Ematu, North Kyoga Regional Police Commander says they shall be tried in the Police disciplinary court at the region.
 
The errant officers will be charged with misconduct and abuse of office and if found guilty, shall be subjected to police disciplinary measures as stipulated in the Police Act.
 
The Railways Division LCIII chairperson Marvin Kawere says he is happy about the arrest saying it will pave ways for justice for the young man who was tortured.
Tom Richard Okello, Lira district Labor officer had earlier on faulted Tip Top Bakery for torture and violation of employment act.
