The police in Kampala have recovered two children that were kidnapped on Monday night from their home in Makindye after their father paid a ransom of 470,000 Shillings.

Herman Nsubuga and Christine Zalwango were reportedly taken from their home in Nakinyuguzi Zone in Makindye Division by an unidentified woman who had been welcomed into their home by their mother.

The kidnappers had initially, asked for a ransom of 5 million Shillings, but according to the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, police immediately began tracking down the number that the kidnappers used to ask for a ransom.

The Children's father, identified as Godan Galiwango says he received a call from the same man and he was asked to send whatever money he had if he wanted to see his children again.

"I sent 470,000 Shillings and they called me back telling me to go to Salaama road, Kulekaana stage. On reaching there, we waited for a while and we saw a bodaboda dropping the children and driving off," Galiwango's said. The children have since been taken to Mulago hospital for medical examination.
