Police in Mbarara has in custody, Brian Byamukama, a guard attached to SGA Security Company for murder.
Locked up at Mbarara Central Police Station, Byamukama is in trouble for the murder of Alex Nuwamanya, a hawker in Mbarara Town and resident of Lugazi in Kakooba division of Mbarara Municipality.
It is alleged that the suspect shot Nuwamanya to death on Tuesday night at Total Kashari after the deceased attempted to grab his gun.
An eye witness says Byamukama was confronted by the deceased who later went for his gun after being asked to leave the fuel station.
The Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson Samson Kasasira says Nuwamanya was rushed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The security guard according to Kasasira, was picked up to help police investigations.
