Officers from the marine police department together with locals have retrieved the bodies of two fishermen who drowned in Lake Kwania in Kwania district.

Officers from the marine police department together with locals have retrieved the bodies of two fishermen who drowned in Lake Kwania in Kwania district. 

The duo identified as Jacob Odongo 25 and Morish Ojok 27, both attached to Akwo-iwanga Landing Site in Acenlworo parish, Atongtidi Sub County in Kwania District, met its death when their boat capsized over the weekend. 
The incident was confirmed by Charles Mugisha the Kwania District Police Commander.

According to James Ongulu the LC I Chairman of Adak-ingo village, they retrieved the bodies of the two fishermen on Sunday evening after a long search.

Patrick Ongum Okwang, the LC III Chairperson of Atongtidi Sub County says that his area has recorded an increase in water accidents mainly being attributed to the use of small canoes by fishermen.
