Police on Friday recovered the lifeless body of a Ugandan man who was killed in Nimule National Game Reserve in South Sudan while reportedly attempting to poach animals.

The deceased, Gabriel Manga, is a resident of Pakarukwe village in Arra parish, Dufile Sub-County Moyo district

Manya was shot dead as he entered Nimule National Game Reserve in South Sudan on Wednesday at about 2:00 pm in the company of six others who scattered upon hearing gunshots.

According to Dominic Eyiachi, the Police Community Liaison Officer for Moyo district says the deceased’s body was recovered from South Sudan in the morning with the help of the local leaders in the district.

He says the body of the deceased has been handed over to the relatives for burial.

However, local leaders in Sub-County claim the deceased was wrongly accused and killed.

The LC 3 chairperson of Dufile Sub-County Maurice Nyi’danyi Vuzi says  Manya and his friends had gone fishing at river Fula when they were attacked and shot at by unidentified assailants who stood on the opposite side of the river.
