Singer Charles Njagua Kanyi aka Jaguar left his competitors eating dust by easily emerging the winner of Starehe parliamentary race by garnering 52,132 votes against ODM’s Steve Mbogo who got 32,357 votes.

Human rights activist Boniface Mwangi who is also an age mate of the above-mentioned came in a distant third.

Jaguar was widely-highlighted by the media during the April Jubilee Party nominations when he trounced veteran politician Maina Kamanda after a successful petition against the latter. Kamand had fraudulently climbed to the top of the tally and was even announced the winner.

The ‘Kigeugeu’ star took to his social media handles to announce the well-deserved win soon after it was clear he had clinched the Starehe seat. He thanked the people of Starehe for their confidence in him.

“God is good, all the time. Still counting..” the ‘Warrior’ crooner said.

Adding:

“Nothing would count without God above. I thank the people of Starehe for having the confidence and trust in me to represent them in Parliament. I thank all my supporters, friends and family who stayed out late campaigning. I also congratulate my worthy opponents; Steve Mbogo, Boniface Mwangi and Hon Kwenya who put up well-spirited campaigns. This is not only a win for Starehe but a win for all the youth in Kenya who look towards a more promising future for Kenya. Let’s now build the Starehe that we all want. God bless you all.

All the best to Jaguar as he prepares to steer Starehe.
