At least five girls of Standard College Ntungamo have been hospitalized following a fire that burnt the entire girls’ dormitory housing Senior Four (S4) students on Thursday.
This is after they were denied to sit with boys in the class. This didn't go well with the girls who waited for the evening to express their anger.
They went and bought petrol poured it on the rooftop before setting the dormitory on fire. Custodians had to come and try to stop the fire. Unfortunately, some students were already injured and were rushed to Itojo and Mbarara hospital. The school has a history of hooliganism.
Last year, the same school was closed overstrike. The students complained that they were denied a social dance which happens annually. This was after one of the students was found pregnant before the event.
