On Thursday last week, singer Irene Ntale tripped and fell to the ground while performing at Million dollar party at Club Guvnor. She has since become the subject of ridicule on the web and gossip circles. When she was helped off the ground, she said she wasn’t the first musicians to fall. True, several celebrities who have fallen over on stage.
Most of these musicians did not feel embarrassed by the stage accidents. For Ntale, instead of continuing to sing gracefully, she was pissed that her fans laughed at her. She said, “I fell so what?” She was clearly enraged. Some people said she was drunk and others claimed that she was high on drugs.
Lady Bee is a powerful woman with profound influence in the world, but she is not immune to falling during performance. She has fallen many times but the most prominent was at a concert in Orlando in 2007. Beyonce tripped on her trench, but amazingly got back to her feet and continued singing.
She has had one of the most dramatic falls in history. Gaga was performing at a gig in 2011 when she decided to stand on a piano stool with one leg, the Lady Gaga way. It turned ugly when she slid, although, not touching the ground. She was able to continue singing leaving many to wonder whether she had been hurt or not.
In 2008, Katy Perry slipped and fell on stage while performing at MTV’s Latin America awards occasion. Katy dived on a cake, but fell down in the process. Her efforts to get up were in vain unit guards helped her up. She continued to sing and made fun of it.
Kemishan is the artiste behind the song “Big Bumper” featuring Mun G. Kemishan fell on stage recently while performing at the DJ Roger and Slick Stuart Mixtape party. He laughed it off and continued with his performance.
At the America Music Awards in 2009, Lopez was performing a dance routine where she was stepping on backs of dancers on a staircase formation, only for her to jump so high at the end that on reaching the ground, she slipped and landed on her behind. What’s amazing she bounced back, and continued to serenade attendees with her songs?
