Singer Iryn Namubiru was a big star in the early 2000s, when she rocked the Ugandan scene with her raunchy dance moves. The “Bilowozo” singer is set for a comeback at the Unplugged Sn 2 show at Liquid Silk, Naalya.

The songstress who was propelled to stardom by her “Nkuweeki” hit in 2006 ruled Uganda’s airwaves with “Kaliba”, “Kabi Ki”, “Bilowozo” and many other hits.

For several years, Iryn commanded a huge following, especially among male fans because of her raunchy dressing and provocative dances. Indeed, in 2011, she won Artist of the year, Female Artist of the year and Album of the year awards.

At the height of her career, she put music on hold to find love and make babies with her then-boyfriend, Frank Morel in France. After few years, they separated over a counter-accusation of infidelity.

Iryn will be joining star-studded list of Bebe Cool, Afrigo Band, Chameleone, Cindy and Goodlyfe who have already graced Liquid Silk Naalya with live band performances.

If the previous unplugged sessions are anything to go by, Iryn’s show will be something worth looking forward to.
