The Ethics and Integrity Minister, Fr. Lukodo has ordered for the blocking of the of pornography sites by internet service providers through Uganda Commissions Commission( UCC).
A letter dated 6th July 2018 clearly states what the committee regards as pornography under the pornography Act 2014.
The letter also points out breach of section 13 of the Anti-Pornography Committee Act that declares streaming of Pornographic material as crime.
Furthermore, the letter also addresses section 17 of the act which states that, "All IPs must ensure that pornographic material should never be uploaded or downloaded through its services."
The sites set to be blocked include www.escortsinkampala.com, www.massagerepublic.com, www.pornhub.com, www.xvideos.com and many more.
However, a section of stubborn Ugandans have vowed to use virtual private Network (VPN) to enjoy porn at free will.
Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a service that bypasses the firewalls that restricts one from accessing a particular website or section of the internet.
