Dancehall musician Fik Gaza was arrested over the weekend in Saudi Arabia where he went for a performance.

It was reported that he was arrested after he failed to secure a work permit and papers for his maiden show in Saudi Arabia.

The National Unity Platform president and musician, Bobi Wine, has spoken about his arrest and revealed that his team is working tirelessly to see him freed from jail.

"I've learned of the detention of this brother and artiste Fik Gaza in Saudi Arabia - something that has happened to so many African and indeed Ugandan artistes in the past. Although details are still scanty, our teams both here and in Saudi Arabia are trying to establish the facts so that we collectively assist him out of this situation," a statement on Bobi Wine's page on Facebook read.
