The National Medical Stores-NMS wants all those seeking to benefit from the free Yellow fever vaccination campaign to present their national identity cards, prior to receiving the service.

Dan Kimosho, the NMS Public Relations Officer says this vaccine campaign will run from September 27 to 29th as one of the activities scheduled to take place during the Uganda Revenue Authority tax payer's week this year.

The campaign is being organised in collaboration with the Health Ministry and Mulago National Referral Hospital.

Kimosho says all one needs to present when they show up for vaccination is their national identity card, adding that they are offering the vaccine to appreciate Uganda's taxpayers, most of whom travel frequently.

Yellow fever vaccination is one of the many travel requirements that those travelling outside the country need. In most health care centres, a ten year dose of yellow fever costs between Shillings 50,000 and 150,000.

Vivian Serwanjja, the Health Ministry Public Relations Officer, says the campaign was arranged to offer a needed service to Ugandans since not all of them can afford it.

"This campaign is part of the many URA activities planned to mark tax payers week and as the ministry of health we had to come up and join the campaign that will help immunise Ugandans against yellow fever."

Kimosho says all those vaccinated will receive the yellow vaccination cards. He however, didn't disclose how much the entire exercise will cost
