Several opposition members are in police custody after they were arrested in different parts of the city, leading protests against tabling of the Age limit Bill by the ruling NRM party.

DP President Norbert Mao, was arrested at Parliament with “Kogikwatako” campaign posters and taken to the Kampala Central Police Station.

Party General Secretary Gerald Siranda says they are working on getting their leader out.

FDC party members were also arrested in different parts of the city, and are being held at CPS. These include; Ingrid Turinawe, Doreen Nyanjura, Hon. Patrick Obo, Buwembo Habib, Paga Gloria, Richard Kwizera and two others not yet identified.

Three Makerere University students were also arrested and are being held at unidentified stations. These include; Guild president Kato Paul, Wanyera Simon, and Ronald Aine, the FDC MUK chapter chairperson.

It is also believed that several other students are being held at Makerere University police station.

Earlier this morning, the Kampala capital city authority Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago was arrested from his home in Wakaliga and taken to Kiira police station.
