Kumi district veterinary officer, formerly attached to Atutu Sub County is in hot soup after police caged him for allegedly destroying the vehicle belonging to the office of Chief Finance Officer.

David Omongot allegedly run berserk and damaged the Double Cabin Pickup registration number LG 00150-60 with a machete, in vengeance for his dismissal from office.

Omongot reportedly went psycho after he found the car parked at a washing bay near the district headquarters and destroyed its windscreens before he was arrested like a dumb chicken thief by the police. He is now charged with malicious damage and threatening violence, according to Kumi District Police Commander Charles Mugisha Omongot.

The told police that he couldn't contain his anger against the Chief Finance Officer and the Chief Administrative Officer Henry Peter Otunya whom he accused of unfairly terminating his contract and failing to pay his seven months salary arrears.

Kumi LCV Chairperson Christine Apolot said the matter is being handled by the police but declined to divulge details on Omongot's dismissal.
