Fear has filled Busia district after police recovered the body of a prominent businesswoman in Busia who was reported missing on April 16th, 2018.
The deceased is Jacqueline Masibo, a prominent businesswoman in Busia municipality.
The Bukedi Region Police Commander Julius Gobolo says Masibo's body was found floating on river Malaba, after they received information from residents.
Gobolo adds that they took the body to Mbale Municipal mortuary for postmortem, which showed that some body parts were missing. He says the deceased's private parts, an ear, nose and lower lips were cut off.
The police have since launched a hunt for any clues on how the businesswoman met her death.
A relative who spoke on condition of anonymity said that Masibo disappeared when she left Busia on a boda-boda to visit her sick husband at Tororo Hospital.
Masibo was carrying over one million Uganda Shillings and unspecified amount of Kenyan currency. Her body was taken to Buteza in Sironko district for burial.
