The Police in Lugazi have in custody two men accused of masterminding the kidnap of a four-year - old girl and demanding a ransom from her parents. Police identified the monsters as Kezekia Isabirye and Martin Tenywa.
It is alleged that the duo connived with a maid to kidnap four-year - old Teddy Lunzinda from her parent's home in Kinyoro village in Lugazi town on Thursday last week, before demanding a ransom of Shillings 3 million from her parents.
According to Police, the family negotiated with the suspects and paid a ransom of Shillings 1 million to regain her freedom, and after receiving the money, the suspect dropped the minor at her home at midnight on Saturday last week.
Luzindana’s brother Umar Kaliisa says they found the child on the doorsteps alive. But, Police tracked down the suspects using the airtel number they used to call the parents of their victim for the ransom money.
The Ssezibwa Region Police spokesperson Hellen Butoto says they are still hunting for Masaba Masoboni, the prime suspect in the kidnap.
