Police in Kaberamaido are holding a woman and her three children accused of killing her husband.
Police identified the suspects as Margaret Ediu and her three children, Joel Emuru, Simon Emachu and Daniel Omelu, all residents of Bira village in Alwa Sub County in Kaberamaido district.
It is alleged that the woman and her children connived to kill 53-year-old Gerald Ejotu, a resident of the same village last night. According to the East Kyoga Region Police Spokesperson Michael Odongo, Ediu ganged up with her children to kill her husband following a domestic quarrel.
The suspects allegedly assaulted the deceased to death and hanged his body to make it appear like he had committed suicide, but detectives found traces of his blood indicating that he was assaulted to death.
Police have now opened a murder case against the suspects vide CRB 272/2018 at Kaberamaido Central Police Station.
