In a rather unexpected turn of events, president Yoweri Museveni has blamed the sale of hooded jackets for the death of the late Arua Municipality MP, Hon. Ibrahim Abiriga.

Ugandans on Social media have criticized the President left and right for suggesting that people who ride on boda bodas while wearing hooded jackets are wrong elements.

He suggested that these should be banned and no Ugandan should be allowed to ride or drive while wearing a hooded sweater.

"Those who killed Abiriga are using a simple technique of putting on a jacket with a hood. Why do you allow people putting on hoods to move around? We are going to ban covering your head when you are driving or riding, this hood of jackets" the president told mourners in Arua this afternoon.

The President who has been accused of abandoning his biggest supporter Abiriga and only showing up to care at the last hour, also demanded that all helmets sold to boda boda riders should be labeled at the back.

He also warned that the killers have opened a war against his government, and that they would not win.
Abiriga and his brother Saidi Kongo were laid to rest a few minutes after 4:00PM in Arua.

Hon. Abiriga was assassinated by unknown people on Friday evening near his home in Kirrinyabigo Kawanda, Wakiso district.
