Four people, including Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze are under investigation by police with belief that the individuals incited or participated in the assassination of Arua Municipality Member of Parliament Col Ibrahim Abiriga.

Hon. Nambooze’s troubles are based on a video in which she explains how easy it is to attack Abiriga even with his bodyguards all around him. This is seen as a way of inciting violence.

Another person of interest is identified as Nasser Mugerwa, who is said to have sent out an audio recording claiming responsibility for Abiriga's assassination. He, details how they used crime preventers that have been trained by the government to kill Abiriga and that many other supporters of the Ruling party National Resistance Movement (NRM) who backed the Age Limit amendment Bill were on the waiting list, including; MPs Evelyn Anite, Ruth Nankabirwa, Simeo Nsubuga and Raphael Magyezi as the next possible targets.

This Mugerwa in his audio also threatened President and his Son.

"All of you who touched on the constitution, you will pay. Even you Museveni and your son Muhoozi we are following you step by step," Mugerwa says in the audio making rounds on social media.

Jane Kuli, the lady whose Facebook post on May 24, 2018, foretold that Abiriga would die in the first week of June, is also part of the investigation, and a Ugandan based in Sweden commonly known as Peng Peng by his social media followers who circulated a video on Monday morning stating that President Museveni and the NRM were behind the murder of Abiriga.

Apart from hon. Nambooze, the three are looked at as persons of interest in the murder of Abiriga and his brother Said Kongo, who were assassinated on Friday evening in Kawanda, Wakiso District.
