The Kyabazinga of Busoga celebrated his 4th Coronation Anniversary on 13th September 2018 in Bugweri.

The event that was held at Bugweri Chiefdom headquarters' ground was attended by thousands of Kyabazinga subjects.

Vice President Edward Ssekandi was chief guest and represented President Yoweri Museveni at the celebrations.

The celebrations were also attended by the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, Umukuka of Bugisu, The Ambassador of France in Uganda, The Prime Minister of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom, The 1st deputy Prime Minister of Buganda, Royal Chief in Busoga, OBB Ministers, Princesses, Members of Parliament and Clan heads among others.

Prior to the celebrations, the Ministry of Health in 'Obwakyabazinga Bwa Busoga' organised a three day free health camp that ended on Friday where over 10,000 people were treated of various ailments.

While speaking to the people, the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, commended Kyabazinga for uniting the youth and women in Busoga through the Kingdom development programs.

In his speech, the Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV hailed development partners for their effort in developing various sectors in Busoga which include education and health among others.

Gabula IV called for teamwork among his subjects and also told them to follow this year's coronation theme "Strengthening structures and systems in OBB" so that Busoga is transformed.

The Kyabazinga further urged his subjects to continue promoting tourism in Busoga.

President Yoweri Museveni, who was represented by Vice President Edward Ssekandi pledged to promote all tourist sites in Busoga.

He said government will continue working hard to improve all infrastructure around all tourist sites.

He encouraged the Kyabazinga to harness the tourism potential in Busoga like Source of the Nile, Bujagali, Kagulu Rock, Lake Kyoga, Bukaleeba Buffalo peninsular and Itanda among others.

Museveni also urged Basoga to protect family values and unity in their region and Uganda at large.

He urged traditional leaders to continue ensuring that their local language and traditions are preserved.
