A recklessly speeding driver had knocked and killed three people in Hoima town.
According to eyewitnesses, the trio including two children were knocked dead today morning by a speeding vehicle registration number UAW 069E. The vehicle from Hoima town was heading to Kakumiro district.
The killer driver has since been identified as George Musilamu who is a night watchman at Kakindo health IV. He fled and abandoned the vehicle.
The deceased are 30-year-old Mukankusi and her two children aged 2 and 5 years respectively, all residents of Wankusa village in Kakindo Sub-county Kakumiro district.
The fatal accident happened after the front tyres of the vehicle burst forcing the driver who was speeding to lose control.
The Kakumiro District Police Commander Hassan Katumba Mugerwa, says that police is hunting for the driver and cautions road users, especially buses, truck drivers and motorcyclists to be conscious and observe traffic rules and regulations to minimize accidents on the roads.
