A total of 336,740 senior four candidates have today kicked off their Uganda Certificate of Education, UCE examinations at 3,658 centres across the country.

UNEB has designated 470 area supervisors, 3,658 centre supervisors and 13,279 invigilators this year.

The examinations slated to end on November 16th started today morning amid delays in delivery of question papers to different schools even in the capital Kampala.

Students started with physics practical paper, while fine art will come this afternoon. At Kitante Hill School, examination papers were delivered later than expected.

The same delay was registered at Mulago Secondary school, where students started 30 minutes late though it was a question of school fees.

Recently, the education ministry warned school heads to allow all students sit examinations and pay later for results.

Uganda Ntional Examinations Board, UNEB executive director Dan Odongo last week urged religious leaders to rigorously preach against examination malpractice. He explained that the vice has become a cancer that eats at the core of education values in the country.

Parents and school heads have in the past been accused of facilitating examination malpractice by contributing money to buy papers on black market.
