When hunger or thirst strikes, one has to feed it. But stealing from church to feed one’s thirst could land you into hell or a police cell.

This is the matter in Kaabong district where Police are holding two men accused of stealing Wine, Holy Water and several other items from Uganda Martyrs Church.

Authorities identify the suspects as Francis Lochoro and Paul Ngelecha, both residents of Nakadelio village in Kapilan Bar Kaabong town Council who were picked up on Tuesday following a complaint from the church management about the disappearance of church property.

According to police reports, the duo broke into Uganda Martyrs Church in Kaabong district on October 15th, 2018 and made away with wine, holy water, long mats, and generator among other electronic appliances.

However, God, from whom they stole, shone a light on them at a local drinking joint luck when they disagreed with one resident leading to information leakage.

Godfrey Acirya the Kaabong District Police Commander says the duo has been charged with burglary and theft. They will be produced in courts of law when investigations are complete.

According to Haadaile Losilo, the Catechist of the Church, he is ready to pardon the suspects if they confess and ask for forgiveness since some of the stolen property was recovered from the suspects.
