Since the fateful dark evening, a team of divers from the Police Marine, UPDF and fishermen have been combing the lake to find more bodies and retrieve the wreckage from the lake.

Police Marine and UPDF divers say they have spotted several bodies still trapped under the wreckage of MV K-Palm, which capsized in L. Victoria around Mutima Beach in Mpatta Sub County in Mukono District on Saturday. The boat was transporting revelers to K-Palm beach from Gabba.
 
So far, authorities put the death toll at 33 as these are the only bodies that have been retrieved while only 27 were rescued from the boat accident that is estimated to have been carrying at least more than 100 revelers.

Since the fateful dark evening, a team of divers from the Police Marine, UPDF and fishermen have been combing the lake to find more bodies and retrieve the wreckage from the lake.

However on Wednesday, police divers who spoke on condition of anonymity said they had spotted several bodies trapped under the wreckage and notified their commanders. 

Authorities have been struggling to move the wreckage in vain. The exercise continues this morning to ensure that it is moved and bodies stuck under it are retrieved. 

Zurah Ganyana, the Police spokesperson in charge of the rescue operation, could not comment on the matter when contacted claiming she was very tired. 

According to Police, reports about five people believed to have been on the ill-fated boat have been made. These include; Silvia Namutebi from Nakisunga, Godfrey Musisi of Kabalagala, Andrew Ssenyonga of Kireka, Peter Kakooza, a resident of Masaka and Eroon Ndagire of Kitende.

Also identification documents including national identity cards and driving permits of nine people who are unaccounted for have been recovered Divers.

These have been identified as Martha Kawalya, Lindah Nankungu, Doreen Arinaitwe, Zahura Paul Apuuli,Samalie Nakakazi, a member of Uganda Law Society, Mariam Nakigudde, Irene Alitubera, Stellah Nabaasa, and a one Namayanja.
