Charles feared for his life; Widow narrates  husband's final days 

The late Charles Muhangi feared for his love, months prior to his death. This was revealed by Patience Muhangi the widow to the businessman and former rally champion who passed on Thursday morning.

The late Charles Muhangi feared for his love, months prior to his death. This was revealed by Patience Muhangi the widow to the businessman and former rally champion who passed on Thursday morning. 

According to Patience, due to the land wrangles that have been ongoing, he had planned to take his chidren abroadbdue to fear for his family's security. 

"He was fearing for his security at some point, but I trust in God's protection. Along the way he was planning to take the children out of the country because he feared for his security. That is when there were a lot of kidnaps" she narrated to a church full of mourners at all saints church Cathedral, Nakasero.

She also said her husband died a happy man since he had accepted Jesus Christ after recovering his land and winning the court case. She explained that he got born again at Watoto church in Kampala. 

Patience also said the late Muhangi had camped at the park for a whole week. "During this time, I counseled my children and told them he was working hard for us" she added. 

Last moment! He came back from work at around 2:00am, he sleep. I was sleeping. At 5am, I heard him in the showers, he was going to work. Then I greeted hi. I was going to pick my daughter from Gayaza because were traveling to Mbarara or my sister's function. So I was leaving early. But when I was organizing myself, I saw he was not well, he was diabetic and had pressure, he was looking for his gadgets, he checks and I see 44. I left after 6am and told him to rest. The kids had woken up, I told them to let daddy rest. But they went to see him, the last word he said to them was have the phone. I was entering Gayaza, and the boy called and said mummy it seems daddy is dead. I tell them to go to the neighbors. Our neighbor Dr. Kaggwa confirmed that the man was dead" she narrated.

She says this was the longest journey she has ever had in her life, from Gayaza to Munyonyo. They say it was a major heart attack that killed him Patienve added.

I will be strong as his wife and for my children. I will try to fulfill his wishes concerning his family.  A funeral service is on going at Nakasero. A host of diginataries including former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi and his wife, Minister Karoro Okrut who is a family friend and representative of the Prime Minister, Principal Judge Yorokamu Bamwine, several members of Parliament, rally drivers among others are in attendance. 

A big will be held at his home in Munyonyo tonight, and his body will be laid to rest on Sunday at his Ancestral home in Bumbaire, Bushenyi. 
May his soul rest in peace.
