Police in Kampala has in custody a one NduhukireEssau a 17 year old boy who confessed to being a serial mobile phone thief.

Police in Kampala has in custody a one Nduhukire Essau a 17 year old boy who confessed to being a serial mobile phone thief.

Police netted Nduhukire after he was captured on video snatching a phone from a passenger in a taxi over the weekend. According to Luke Owoyesigire the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, the suspect has an accomplice identified as Byamukama Musa.

Oweyesigire appealed to the passenger whose phone was allegedly snatched by Nduhukire to pick it from CPS Kampala. The suspect was selling all stolen phones to Musa, who would in turn sells them to unsuspecting customers.

“We are yet to recover these phones from Musa and he will also be arraigned before courts of law” he added.

He warned members of the public to keep their phones safe especially while in traffic jam to avoid being snatched by people with long arms like Nduhukire. He also assure the public that police cameras that were recently installed really work.
