Uganda police force has assured her citizens that together with other sister security organs, they have secured all boarder entries and exists. The development comes after Suspected militants attacked a luxury hotel complex in Nairobi, killing at least 15 people.

Last night, police released a statement in response to Tuesday's attack in our neighbouring Kenya, explaining that it noted with concern that Ugandans are living in fear and equally concerned with what happened there.

However, police add that in as much as they are in charge, members of the public should be vigilant in their places of work, worship, and entertainment among others.

Gunfire and blasts were heard at the compound in the Westlands district of the Kenyan capital, which houses the DusitD2 hotel as well as offices.

The Somalia-based militant group al-Shabab said it was behind the attack. Despite the government saying all the buildings were secured by Tuesday evening, fresh gunfire has been heard at 6am as security forces engaged attackers.

Officials and witnesses said 15 people died in the attack. One was a US citizen, another was British, 11 were Kenyan, while two remain unidentified.

But the total number killed is not yet confirmed - a mortuary worker told Reuters that it was at least 15.
