Police has denounced terror alerts that have been spreading on social media including that of a suspected serial female terrorist who is alleged to have crossed from Kenya to Uganda in the wake of last week’s attack on a hotel that left more than 20 people dead.

During a media briefing in Kampala CP Fred Enanga the police spokesperson said alerts were falsified and there is no need for panic.

“Another version is of a woman called Violet Kamuto alias Khadija who is claimed to be armed, dangerous, ruthless, kills without mercy assembles bombs and strips, constructs weapons of war and is wanted by Kenyan police” Enanga said.

He added that the fake alert indicates that Khadija’s last phone records show that she was headed for Uganda and that the document has Kenyan emergency lines and warns of potential attacks on soft targets in katwe.

“We want the public to disregard such fake terror alerts which are meant to give credit and publicity to terrorists. The country has no specific threats, although the police and sister security agencies continue to actively monitor and share information with the regional counterparts. We also want to add no section of the public has come under increased scrutiny as alleged of arrests in kisenyi” CP Enanga added.

He promised that the police will only release information including terror alerts upon accurate and honest acknowledgement of any real alerts.
