213 candidates in Kyotera district can now smile after the Uganda National Examinations Board-UNEB released their results which had been withheld on allegations of malpractices.

Mathias Kigoye, the Kyotera District Education Officer, says he results are for candidates who sat from seven schools of St Paul Kaaso, 71 from Kyenvubu and 25 from Kibonzi primary schools in Nabigasa Sub County.

The other schools are Kasaka primary, Kalisiizo Muslim primary, little flowers primary and St Raphael primary school.

Kigoye says that results were released on Wednesday after the board interrogated some of the candidates and school head, teachers.

Kigoye, however, indicated that UNEB cancelled results of 10 candidates from Kibonzi government primary school.

He says they have asked the headteacher to encourage the candidates to repeat P.7.

Patrick Kintu Kisekulo, the Kyotera District LC5 Chairperson says the withheld results had disturbed members of the district executive committee, adding that they are now grateful that UNEB has exonerated the schools.

UNEB withheld the results of over 3,500 candidates across the country over alleged malpractices.
