Giant telecommunication company MTN Uganda has this morning confirmed the deportation of their Chief Executive Officer Mr. Wim Vanhelleputte. 

Mr. Wim becomes the fourth employee of MTN to be deported after he was declared prohibited immigrants. on Thuisaday evening, Grace Akullo the Criminal Investigations Director confirmed the development but could not give any details. 

However, Howwe.Biz understands that Wim Vanhelleputte was deported on Thursday night aboard Brussels Airlines on the orders of the Internal Affairs Minister, Gen Jeje Odong.

However, the company wrote on its twitter handle this morning, that they were yet to know reasons as to why their boss was deported. 

"MTN confirms that Mr. Wim Vanhelleputte, the CEO of MTN Uganda has been deported from Uganda. MTN has not been notified of the grounds for the deportation and is working hard to establish precise reasons for the deportation" they wrote.

Mr. Gordian Kyomukama, currently Chief Technology Officer, has since been appointing as Acting Chief Executive and the company promised that its focus continues to be on delivering the best quality products and services to customers.  

"We are understandably concerned about these developments and are engaging with the authorities to seek understanding that would lead us to resolving this matter. MTN Uganda is fully committed to respecting and operating within the laws of the country" the company writes.

Other MTN staffs deported earlier are; French national Olivier Prentout, who was the Chief Marketing Officer at MTN-Uganda, Rwandan national Annie Bilenge Tabura who was the General Manager, Sales and Distribution at MTN-Uganda and Italian national Elsa Mussolini, the former General Manager for Mobile Finance Services.

They were accused of compromising the country's National security.
