One person is nursing wound after being shot by a soldier from the Special Forces Command-SFC in Entebbe. The injured has only been identified as Otim, a royal guard of Rwoth Rosette Sanders, the Queen Mother of Alur Chiefdom.

Otim was shot after opening fire at people around Nakiwogo close to Entebbe State House and Uganda Virus Research Institute. He was allegedly drunk.

When residents called Police for rescue and it didn’t turn up, SFC soldiers from state house responded to save some of the occupants from being shot. The drunken guard had to first be shot so as to be disarmed.

He was shot in the waist and rushed to Nsamize hospital treatment. Otim resorted to drinking on Monday after receiving his payment.

The Entebbe Division Police Commander Baker Kawonawo, declined to comment on the incident referring the media to the SFC Spokesperson Jimmy Omara who has also requested for more time to get details. The incident happened last evening.
