Authorities in Amolatar district have arrested three people for allegedly hacking an 89-year-old man to death.

The deceased is Martin Ogang a resident of Anyua village, in Akwon sub-county who was found dead on Sunday.  Ogang’s body was found hanging in the house by his wife.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson identified the suspects as Calvin Ogwal, Calvin Ocan, and another has only been identified as Odongo.

Okema says that the suspects were arrested with the help of the police canine.

Meanwhile, in Apac District, the police are hunting for three people in connection to the death of Walter Acuma who was accused of stealing an unspecified amount of money from his aunt Janet Ayugi.

Acuma, a resident of Tetek village was allegedly picked from Atopi trading center on Sunday by Denis Ebur. Okema says that Ebur, Ayugi, and another unidentified person reportedly beat Acuna to death.

The police are still searching for the suspects who have since disappeared from the village.
