The Supreme Court has today entered day three of hearing the election petition of independent presidential candidate John Patrick Amama Mbabazi’s against the presidency of Yoweri Museveni.

Throughout the day, Museveni’s lawyers made their defense as per the cases levied against them by the petitioner’s lawyers who made their case on Tuesday.

During today’s court session, Museveni’s Lawyers argued that never at any point did he abuse the petitioner as alleged by his legal team.

This was in line with a statement made by candidate Museveni after his supporters clashed with the petitioner’s in Ntungamo.

He is quoted to have said, “Those 'thugs' committed a very grave mistake that they will forever regret. If you put your hands in the anus of a leopard, you are in trouble"

However, the first respondent’s legal team (Museveni) led by Didas Nkurunzinza said the statement was not at any point targeted at the person of Mbabazi, but rather, at the thugs who had attacked and beaten up his supporters.
