2016 presidential petitioner, and former presidential candidate John Patrick Amama Mbabazi says he together with his lawyers are to sit and study today’s Supreme Court ruling before going forward.

Addressing a press conference in Kampala this afternoon, moments after the ruling was delivered trashing his petition; Mbabazi said he would consult with his lawyers to see what next.

A panel of nine judges led by chief justice Bart Katureebe trashed Mbabazi’s petition that was challenging the re-election of Yoweri Museveni as president for the next five years.

According to Mbabazi, the EC erred when its chairman Eng. Badru Kiggundu announced Museveni the winner of the February 18th general election.

However, the petitioner could not provide court with enough evidence, leading to its being dismissed without costs.

Mbabazi also denied claims by police that a group of 11 men arrested this morning for chaining themselves on electric polls were part of his party members and FDC, claiming those were lies concocted by Uganda police.

According to Mbabazi the state seems too vulnerable, that they believe all kinds of wrong information fed to them by wrong persons.
