Minister of internal affairs Hon. Jeje Odong has condemned the pro-Kayihura demonstrations at Makindye court that left the country in awe last week.

Addressing the press at Uganda media center this morning about issues concerning Uganda police force, Hon. Odong said government does not condone or support unlawful demonstration or gatherings.

Odong added that government and his ministry condemn gatherings at Makindye, before saying that they regretted the incident and similar incidences that happened in past.

“Ministry of internal affairs condemns the gatherings at Makindye constitutional court. Government regrets the incident and also notes similar incidences that happened in the past” Odong said.

On police brutality hearings, Odong said they are ongoing and are open to the public. He also told the press that DPP has taken on the matter of SP Aaron Baguma and in due course he will appear in court.

“I can say categorically he (ASP Aaron Baguma) will appear in court and be charged accordingly” said Odong.

He also clearly indicates that Gen. Kale Kayihura is being charged as an institution and not an individual as most Ugandans thought.
