At least three people are in trouble for alleged electoral malpractice in the National Resistance Movement-NRM party primaries in the new district of Namisindwa.

The trio are Richard Kikuyi, the Bumbo Sub County NRM party Registrar and the Sub County LC 3 Chairman, Joshua Kuloba.

Elgon Region Police Spokesperson Suwed Manshur, says the suspects were found with pre-ticked ballots in favor of two candidates vying for the LC V chairperson and Woman MP Ticket he didn't disclose.

Wycliffe Kitana, the Namisindwa District NRM party registrar has confirmed the arrests. He says an election supervisor from Bumwoni is also in police custody for alleged failure to pay presiding officers.

Charles Nasimolo, the Namisindwa District NRM party Chairperson, confirmed the arrest but said he hadn't establish the reason behind the arrest of the four people.

The candidates vying for the Namisindwa NRM Woman MP party ticket include Grace Namukhura, Sarah Netalisire and Juliet Wanyenya.
