Anti-corruption court registrar Nakyazze Racheal has adjourned to 14th December 2017, the case in which Former Labour State Minister Herbert Kabafunzaki, his political assistant Brian Mugabo, and a colleague Bruce Lubowa, face charges of corruption.

Flanked by his co-accused, Kabafunzaki arrived at court by 8:00am.

The hearing however flopped due to the ongoing nationwide prosecutors’ strike. The accused lawyer Twebaze Drake told Howwe.biz after the adjournment that his clients’ case has dragged on yet Kabafunzaki needs to move on with his political carrier.

They are alleged to have solicited the 5 million shillings from Mohammed Hamid, the Proprietor of Aya Group of Companies, in order to clear his name from allegations of sexual harassment by his former employee.

Counsel Twebaze called upon government to heed to prosecutors’ demands so they can immediately return to work and clear case backlog.
