On Saturday, East Africa’s richest man, Sudhir Ruparelia’s daughter Sheena was married in a luxurious wedding ceremony held at Speke Resort in Munyonyo.
Sheena and her husband Jay Sakaria have had their wedding celebrations in two continents.
The lovebirds first held two ceremonies at the exclusive Savoy and Dorchester Hotels in London, hotels that are patronized by international celebrities, the wealthy and royalty.
The Munyonyo black tie affair was a culmination of week-long events that included a beer festival on Tuesday and a give-away at the Ruparelia mansion on Friday night.
The luxurious dinner dance to celebrate the couple’s wedding to which about 1500 guests from over 30 countries were invited at Speke Resort, Munyonyo last Saturday evening is estimated to have cost close to 7 billion.
The function was attended by a cross-section of movers and shakers from different sections of Ugandan society –diplomats, politicians, the corporate world, legislators, civil service, media, and business
